Rebalancing of Payment Plans

Any student who is enrolled in a payment plan and has had any credits or payments made to their student account recently will have their payment plan balance adjusted on November 4th. You will receive an email when this adjustment has been made. Please log in to view your payment plan and the amount of your upcoming payments, as they may have changed.

Spring 2014 Enrollment Appointments Assigned – Sent 10/21/2013

Hello Enrollment Users:

This morning I have assigned enrollment appointments for all students. Appointments are one window assigned per day. All enrollment appointments begin at 9:00 AM, on their assigned day, for undergraduates, graduates, and PharmD students.

October 30th will begin spring 2014 enrollment. Attached is the list of credit hours students were assigned with, in each window, and also attached is the list of deadlines and important dates.

I am now working on updating the Office of the Registrar website and I would encourage everyone to visit our website for the most up-to-date information.

Summer 2014 Now Available – Sent 10/21/2013

Hello Schedulers,

An announcement has been posted in the system. Please read below for details about the announcement:

Hello Schedulers, Friday we rolled the summer term. It should now be available in SIRI and Infosource. The deadline for all changes to centrally scheduled classes is Friday, December 13 at 5PM. No additional add/deleting/changing of classes with CSS as the facility should take place until we are finished with seating. You can still submit a spreadsheet if you have many changes we need to make for you. Those changes include the following: Combine or Uncombine/Dual List/Cross List requests Credit hour changes New special topics Requisite changes. As always, please DO NOT add/delete/change any CSS classes. When we are working on seating there is no interface on to take your changes over to R25. While we were seating for spring there were many changes made that created conflicts with what was already sat in R25. We will let everyone know when we are done with seating and when it is OK to make the changes described above. We anticipate publishing the schedule on January 2nd. Please note there are no final exams for the summer term. We will begin accepting adhoc room requests for summer on February 1st. I will be scheduling additional monthly workshops for schedulers to be able to come and work on their schedules in a quiet place and ask any questions you may have. Thank you,Sara

Spring 2014 Schedule Update – Sent 10/7/2013

Hello Schedulers,

Please continue to check your schedules in SIRI and HUB. We are still working on getting everything seated and if we have not already, we will be contacting you regarding your unseated classes if we are unable to seat them. The final exam process was run on Friday. Everything that was requested to receive a final has a day/time (and most have a room, but we have a few to work on that do not). Any special requests for double seating and/or combining exams will be looked in to beginning in November.

The spring 2014 schedule is going to be released to students and the public on Wednesday, October 9th. Enrollment will not begin until October 30th so there is still time to get reserve capacities in order.

Please work with Peter and Shakira as they contact you so we can get everything seated before enrollment. We may move rooms around, so please be aware the schedule will be in flux until we can get everything seated.

Lastly, as in all terms, we ask while we are seating that no day/time changes take place. We had quite a few changes, too many to contact each department individually. There were also quite a few additions of new courses. The end result is double bookings and courses added with CSS remaining in HUB and not moving to R25. We have been trying to keep up with the changes to ensure no double bookings, but we will need to continue to need to monitor the changes. We will be unable to move the courses added late into R25 until we have all other courses, originally included with seating, sat. The interface is now on and will catch any new requests, but will not catch day or time changes if the class is already unseated. Our office will be working on revising the process for the fall term, based on the results of this spring term. As with any new process, we will continue to try to work the kinks out.

New Department Scheduler System on the Way!! – Sent 9/27/2013

Hello Schedulers,
We are in the final stages of preparing to release the ticketing system we have told you about. On Thursday, October 10th at 10AM in Norton 218 Peter, Shakira, and myself will be holding an optional, one hour, walk through presentation to show you the ins and outs of the system. This is optional, but I think is a great opportunity for questions as well as suggestions, so I encourage you to attend.

The system will be live on Monday, October 14th and also on this day we will be decommissioning the SARFS website area containing all of our forms. On Tuesday, October 15th we will no longer be accepting any paper forms or email requests of any kind. The link for the system will be on the new Office of the Registrar faculty/staff website which is also going live on Monday, October 14th. Anyone with a faculty or staff UBITName will be able to access this system. General inquiries can still be sent to the ubsched@buffalo.edu email.

We are expecting the new system to handle everything from one time room requests and midterm exam requests to course catalog changes you now currently submit on the course action form. The Graduate School is also moving to this system as well for any course action changes you would submit to them.

A few highlights of the system are:

• One thread for requests – Meaning no separate emails to keep track of; every “email” is inside the ticket thread
• A way for you to request items you cannot currently request, such as new reserve capacity groups
• Tracking of your request and who is completing it
• Status of your request
• Email notifications of when we have responded to your request
• History of requests
• Announcements

We are very excited for this opportunity and cannot wait to share this with you as we hope it will help make everyone’s day a little less chaotic and a little more organized!

Rebalancing of Payment Plans

Don’t forget to check your @buffalo.edu email address for the third Fall eBill notification. The due date is November 13th. Online payments can be made in your HUB Student Center via the Payment Options link.

Spring 2014 Enrollment Appointment Information

Good Afternoon Enrollment Users:

Attached, please find the outline of enrollment dates for the Spring 2014 Semester. I will be assigning appointments during the day on October 21st so students will be able to view their exact appointment in their student center at that time.

I encourage everyone to refer students and other staff to the Office of the Registrar website as it will hold the most current enrollment information. (registrar.buffalo.edu)

Students will not be able to add courses to their shopping cart for spring until they are term activated. We are planning to run spring term activation on October 6th. We are also planning to publish the spring 2014 schedule on October 9th and the information will be viewable in the HUB Student Center as well as on our website.
